We are “Everything That’s Radical”, a team associated with Pleasant Valley High School in Bettendorf, Iowa. Our team was established in 2013. Since Block Party, the team has had many outstanding results. Last season, we made it to the semifinals in the gold division at the Iowa Championship. We also placed 2nd for the Innovate award. This year we are striving to exceed last year's results and make it to the World Championships!
Each student grows from the experiences within the FIRST Tech Challenge program. No matter if it is designing and building a robot, through outreach, or from putting together a portfolio or getting a speech. Every student on our team is also privileged that they can take advantage of the many Applied Science Classes that the Pleasant Valley High School provides. Many of our team members have taken one or more of the Applied Science Classes.

Some of our team members assisted with mentoring Hopewell's elementary students in their FLL team. FLL is the introduction to FIRST and an important step in learning robotics, so being able to mentor is important to inspiring the next generation of robotics engineers.

We had the opportunity to show our robot to students at Riverdale Heights. We hope our engagement will spark interest in younger students to join a robotics team in the future, and to uphold the FIRST values in every aspect of their lives.

When our team found out the Chromebooks were being scrapped by our school district, we asked if we could refurbish them and donate them to good causes. We donated 14 Chromebooks to One-Eighty's youth tutoring program for at risk children. One-Eighty is a non-profit organization in Davenport, IA that offers rehabilitation programs and housing for people struggling with substance abuse as well as homeless families.
